The graph indicates the proportion of different wastes which four countries dealt with through four methods.

Based on the analysis, all the items can be classified into four categories. when it comes to the method of landfill, it played a leading role in the treatment of rubbish in Italy, the UK and Spain and dealt with at least the half of the total waste (55%, 60% and 50% for each), while it gained the least application in Netherland (only 10%). In terms of recycling, it occupied the second position in Italy, the UK and Spain whose figures maintained extremely similar (30%, 30% and 35% respectively). Clearly, the amount of waste treated in Italy and Britain was exactly twofold as much as that in Netherland. Turning to burning, its situation witnessed an opposite pattern to that of landfill, which means it ranked the first in Netherland (45%), but gained little application in the remaining countries (below 10%). It is worth mentioning that the story of biologically treated rubbish shared a similar mode to that of being burnt and this approach did not exist in Britain. (30% in Netherland and less that 10% in the other two countries)

Seen from the graph, the traditional method of landfill and more eco-friendly method of recycling dealt with the vast majority of waste except for Netherland.
