Many young people's choice of future jobs basedon salary. Do you think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

In this day and age(在当今社会), the attitude young people adopt towards job choices has experienced a noticeable and far-reaching transformation. Under this circumstance, an absolute consensus can hardly be reached whether the most critical factor for the young to select a career is to prioritize a high salary. For my part, I side with opponents to a larger extent.

It has to be admitted that a high salary does a great job in（有助于） ensuring youngsters’ life quality. To be specific, as the society is advancing by leaps and bounds（日新月异）, the expense of basic necessities such as housing, healthcare and education is skyrocketing at an astonishing rate, especially in metropolitan areas. In this case, the young without well-paid jobs have no alternative but to（不得不） bear heavy financial burden, enabling it an extremely demanding job（很难） to make ends meet in their daily life

However，much heavier weight should be attached to the drawbacks brought about by concentrating solely on salary. For one thing, well-paid jobs are entwined with(交织) excessive working hours, heavy pressure and tight schedule, which will cast a shadow on（投下阴影） maintaining a rational balance between life and work. In a long run, young people’s physical and mental health will be impaired, which can hardly be compensated with high income.

For another, if the youngenter a profession without genuine interest for the sake of pursuing a high salary alone, their intrinsic motivation will be undermined immensely over time. Without a sense of purpose or enthusiasm, their job performance is inclined to(倾向于) be influenced negatively, which not only limits career advancement but also increases the risk of job dissatisfaction and frequent career shifts. This is the least thing we would expect to see（这是最不希望看到的事情）.

In light of the analysis mentioned above, I am convinced that although a high salary is of paramount importance in(具有至关重要的作用) choosing a career for young people, other elements like career prospects, the sense of achievement and interest should be placed in the equal position. Only in this way will the young be blessed with a bright future in a long run.
