For my part, I side with the stance of Claire that group study benefits children aged 5 to 11 more immensely than high schoolers, which makes more sense in a long run.

Andrew harbors a valid view that small group activities will impose more positive influences onthose aged 14 to 18 on the grounds that this learning pattern does a great job in breaking the mold and making bilateral thinking(打破常规思维和发散思考). However, he fails to mention thatunder the peer pressure, some teens who lack enough self-confidence are more willing to study alone.

Instead, I hold the belief that it is universally acknowledged that（众所周知） children tend to be distracted more readily, which means they are equipped with（拥有） shorter attention spans. Under this circumstance, group study is extremely effective in（有助于） keeping their attention focused. A case in point is that（例如） during reading classes, children in small groups can take turns reading aloud, discussing the plot and characters, or working together on book reports, which will improve their academic performance undoubtedly. Not to mention that when they make joint efforts to win a game or crack a hard nut（解决棘手问题）, it will enhance their sense of achievement, and then stimulate their eager for study.
